South Africa, Gauteng, Female, 25-34

I feel a need to be a lot more defensive, or at least be able to rationalize, explain anything I do in order to validate why I am doing it. While it helps to be very thorough in a process it makes it difficult at times to do things quickly. I think it comes from a place of feeling that as a woman I do not carry the authority to make these decisions or a feeling that at some point I will be challenged on my decisions a lot more than my male counterparts. Something especially experienced in practice: “what is your opinion on this”, *gives opinion*, “hmm ill go ask (insert male name), comes back with the same answer.
