South Africa, Johannesburg, Female, 24 and under

Being a female in a male dominated industry can be difficult. I am often seen as someone who is incapable of doing certain things. When it comes to construction and communicating with suppliers and contractors, the people generally don’t take me seriously. on the other hand, it can be empowering because I can prove myself as a female in a male dominated industry as a female I am forced to do things outside my comfort zone, therefore I learn a lot quicker, especially with the criticism as a motivator.
