Return to the map Interior Design

South Africa, Johannesburg, Female, 24 and under

Cultural influences influence my design style, as an Asian I tend to incorporate my culture, or elements of it into my designs. Interior design is often seen as a feminine, decorative field of design so as a female, people expect me to “decorate” when people find out that interior design is a lot more technical than people think, and being constantly surrounded by males in surrounding industries, like construction, architecture, contractors etc. I, as a woman is not taken seriously, or viewed as incapable.
