UK, London, Female, 24 and under

As a student, I often challenged the idea of gender inequality in the arts, publicly commenting on the prejudices I had noticed. On the other hand, at times I also found myself altering my own behaviour to fit into the ‘boys club’ stereotype.

Since graduating, I have made a conscious effort to engage with other female creatives to ensure my role models are people who have experienced being a woman in the creative industry. Having these women as sources of inspiration and knowledge, knowing how they have succeeded, has helped me to become more confident in developing my own practice.
